Heritage Foundation thinks legalization may take a while

PBS video: Obama Colombia Visit Renews Call to Retool U.S. Drug Policy. Ethan Nadelmann of Drug Policy Alliance and Ray Walser of the Heritage Foundation square off.

The interesting part of this is that Ray Walser starts off much as expected, but is unable to hold to a hardline approach.

Watch how the Heritage Foundation representative completely avoids off any strong defense of prohibition, agrees that a discussion of legalization is legitimate, and refers to legalization as “a long process.”

When you are impacting some of the richest industrialist/corporations in the world,,and 80% of them belong to PAC’s with limitless election funding available,,only one state at a time is the way to go,,,if the voters can quit allowing the feds to drive wedges between factions will that happen.

But it is going to happen,,because these same rich basturds may be able to buy legislatures but they can’t buy the people.

I’m getting really tired of hearing drug warriors say that the topic of legalization is “legitimate.” Well, gee, thanks a lot for the condescension, jerkwad, but I sure as hell don’t need you to confer legitimacy on my position. You can’t confer legitimacy because you have none. You support using violence in a futile attempt to control what adults put into their own bodies and consciousness. THAT is illegitimate.

Give it two years and they’ll claim that regulation was all their idea, and it took millions of dollars and a couple think tanks to come up with it.

Why the heck did PBS make me watch a flippin’ commercial advertisement?
