Peace:
Peace is a state of harmony characterized by the lack of violence , conflict behaviours and the freedom from fear of violence. Commonly understood as the absence of hostility, peace also suggests the existence of healthy or newly healed interpersonal or international relationships, prosperity in matters of social or economic welfare, the establishment of equality, and a working political order that serves the true interests of all.”
and not taking away from Pete’s vid ’cause I actually took 50 minutes to load the whole thing (and gave me time to load one) and love it.
But Richie, man… when I was discovering adult life and getting a real education from some outstanding folks, true teachers… music was such a part of all of that and Richie, he was iconic, not a song in the world like that. And that music… it was passionate and above all what the ’60s and ’70s had was passion. And damn good tunes… we were so right about so many things.
Can ya hear it? Freedom. It’s in our blood. It’s the spark of it all…
The whole Boston Marathon bombing thing was quite a trip for me. I watched all night until he was out of the boat. And then, just as I was gonna turn it off I started watching the cops leaving and the people applauding… and I was moved, to tears.
That whole chase was the best of us, as citizens cooperating with LE because… just fucking because… freedom is across the board and we’ll do what we need to.
And we did. Some of us not so well (not to name names but if it chirps like a bird)… indeed we got one of the men alive.
And the cops… we’re glad you do what you do and we’re glad to help… when it comes to the right things. We like the good guys. But when y’all put on that SWAT gear looking like you’re on a mission from Darth Vader and invade our homes over a plant… nah. That shit’s gotta stop. Really.
Just as a matter of personal preference I like the phrase “essential liberty” instead of freedom. But you know me, why use 4 words when I can use 40 to express myself?

I sat on that grassy hillside and listened to Richie sing of Freedom and the Motherless Child in New York. Thanks, Richie, for the experience.
Really nice interview and profile of activist Anna Foster from the (relatively) new site “ladybud”. http://ladybud.com/the-war-isnt-over-my-dad-was-sentenced-to-93-years-in-prison-for-marijuana/
