Next Presidential Debate – November 5

The next and final Presidential Debate will be between Gary Johnson and Jill Stein on Monday, November 5, the night before the general election (the date has been moved back due to the hurricane).

From the Free and Equal Elections Foundation:

Free and Equal Elections Foundation today announced the date of the second open-party Presidential debate has changed to November 5. The debate will feature Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein, a line-up decided by voters last week after the first debate between Johnson, Stein, Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode, and Justice Party candidate Rocky Anderson.

The November 5 debate will be held from 9:00pm to 10:30pm Eastern Time at RT America’s state of the art studio and facility. RT America will open its studio and offer a live, neutral feed via satellite to interested media. The moderator will be announced next week.

From the paradigm that both of the major parties are indistinguishable from each other, it can be logically argued that to vote for either major party candidate will be wasting that vote because if one of them wins then everything continues as before, nothing is solved, nothing is improved. Therefore to vote for a third party candidate is the only approach whereby one does not waste one’s vote. If nothing else, it sends the message that the natives are restless.

  2. In a Demcracy there is no such thing as a wasted vote.

There is such a thing as a manipulated result. I see no sense in a vote for either a Democrat or Republican for President. I can’t see the difference.

Would you like salt or pepper with that baloney sandwich?

  3. Windy says:

It doesn’t matter in which State one resides, EVERYONE should vote 3rd party and no one should ever vote for a d or r again in any federal race.

    • claygooding says:

I would vote “d” or “r” if I thought it would take an incumbent legislator out because that is the only way to change anything under the present system and when America wakes up the people will never return an incumbent to the legislature,,,start shutting down those “good ol boys clubs and the corporations lose some of the control they have now.

      • Windy says:

Term limits (whether imposed by law or by voting the incumbent out after his/her first, second or whatever term) will never change anything unless we also make certain that all legislative and congressional members’ “staff” leave with the outgoing member and not be allowed to become staff for any other member of that body for at least 15 years. If we do not impose that rule, the staff becomes the power behind the office.

Interesting at the end of the video O’Donnell seems to advocate abolishing the electoral college.

I know, I know. Newsweek is on its last legs. Nevertheless, there’s much in here to debunk. Have at it folks!

Ya’ll gonna haftsta carry the torch on this one I’m afraid. Today’s not likely to be a real good one for online business, many, many things to do. Meant to call Divadab this weekend, didn’t even get to that. Hey Diva…lets get together, I have an issue I’d like your opinion on.

  6. Klay says:

I think it is more important in battle ground states to stand your ground and vote for the candidate that aligns with you the closest. Only then will the 2 parties stop ignoring issues, until then they are going to select candidates that believe the status quo will keep their job which is their main objective.

    • stlgonzo says:

      Klay,
If your point is that it is even more important to vote for third party candidates in a battle-ground state then I could not agree with you more. Imagine if Gary Johnson takes enough votes from Obama in Colorado to steal that state from the Dems (not that I want Romney to win), but that should be a clear message to the present administration that the promises they broke about MMJ are important.

      • Klay says:

That is my point. I think if GJ has a major impact in Colorado, then the Dems only have themselves to blame for taking a group for granted.

  7. Let’s hope it’s an actual debate this time.

    • Windy says:

With those two (Gary Johnson and Jill Stein) it will be a real debate. Did you not watch the first one with the four alternate party candidates all of whom the MSM ignores? If you did not, you might want to visit YouTube and search for the 3rd party candidates’ 2012 debate, that was a real debate. The only presidential debates this election which were not real debates were the 3 in which there were only the two Goldman Sachs’ puppets (Obama and Romney) participating.

      • Yes, Windy, I watched the debate (and the other three). The Free & Equal “debate” was really nothing more that statements of policies and positions. I intend to vote for Gary Johnson. That said, I believe Romney will win by 5 points. This is one case where the devil you don’t know will be better than the one you do…

Viva Italia! Cocaine and marijuana found in air over Italy
Apparently those Italians really do like getting high. That took a lot of friggin’ cocaine to make that happen.

    • claygooding says:

That is the third time that article,or that subject, was put out in the last 3 months,,I smell more bullshit in the air in Italy than cocaine and predict that it is a propaganda piece from that countries drug czar.

  12. Here is a video I highly recommend: http://tinyurl.com/9fdqb8r ,also on my blog.

We have a blatant problem. The Government prohibition of marijuana is the actual public health hazard. Hiding the fact that marijuana is a BENEFICIAL drug and healthy for an individual to smoke makes the Government and its own laws the source of the actual health hazard that is ruining America. Keeping marijuana illegal is a health hazard. The Government has spent 80 years suppressing the cures for some of mankinds most dreaded diseases.

Fighting the legalization of marijuana at this point is quite an insane act. Quite literally, we should demand that this change. Its not just a smart thing to do. Keeping marijuana illegal is destructive to the good public health of any individual who chooses to avail themselves of marijuana as a health promoting activity.

I had 1 tree fall in my yard but it was a puny little tree with a trunk that was 3 inches in circumference and 10 feet high at most. No interruption in our electrical service. But for some reason we almost never lose our electric service here. If it does go then it seems to get fixed days before everyone else. Perhaps it has something to do with the military installation or the FDA just up the road.

The thing that really disgusts me is how the media outlets have taken to over hyping stuff like this. Shit, I was waiting for them to predict that those calendar people had missed their estimate by a couple of months and that the storm would cause the end of the world as we know it. If they keep on doing shit like that one day the wolf will be real and eat someone because the warnings are disregarded. But I guess that’s less important than making sure people don’t switch to another broadcast during the commercial.

Bend over, put your head between your knees, and kiss your ass goodbye. And now for these important messages by our sponsors…That’s right, folks…Don’t touch that dial…

Sandy sucked… when she was supposed to blow. Here in MA at least.

Regardless. The next two weeks are going to be… a snooze. Who’s got the legalization bettimg pool going? I’m banking on just one state, but I would be willing to entertain a two state bid.

Here in MA we are just twiddling our thumbs waiting for MM to pass by fifteen percentage points or more… sigh.

    • darkcycle says:

Well, n.t, I’m not a betting man. But if I were I would not take a bet against I-502, and the odds are more favorable to us in Colorado every day.
I suppose if Washington is the only State to legalize, I can live with that, but it sure would be nice to have Colorado to spread the Feds a little thinner.

Win, lose or draw the cannabis law reform advocates in Colorado have done a truly marvelous job promoting Amendment 64. If A-64 does lose it won’t be their fault.
