Well, that line sort of killed it for me. How about we let the police focus on actual crimes and recognize that using law enforcement to address a medical and health issue is a bizarre category error and a counterproductive disaster?
Agreed. It would have been better if he had said ‘real crimes’ instead. Might the reason for not saying so be to cause less friction with LEO’s? By saying ‘real drugs’ he is insinuating to the cops that they will still have a drug war gravy train, albeit without cannabis.

It’s well known that there is no war on drugs without the war on cannabis. There is just not enough use of the other ones to justify all the massive expenditure.
Good thing the government never makes massive expenditures that can’t be justified. 😛
But yeah, seriously, I do think the end of cannabis prohibition will be a serious blow to the continuing viability of the rest of the drug war.
