Rohnert Park cop charged in marijuana theft

A few California police officers are undergoing withdrawal-like symptoms from the drug war due to being denied any opportunity to enforce a failed crusade against cannabis:

…a grand jury added four new criminal counts against Joseph Huffaker, including impersonating a federal officer and falsifying records in a federal investigation.

Prosecutors say Huffaker and at least one other officer posed as ATF agents during traffic stops where they illegally seized weed from drivers on the side of the highway and later falsified records to cover up the corruption.

“It’s been a long time, five years ago this month,” said Zeke Flatten [a former Texas cop], who says Huffaker and a yet unidentified second individual robbed him of three pounds of marijuana in December 2017 while impersonating ATF agents during a traffic stop along Highway 101. “I’m satisfied. I’m satisfied that they’re being held accountable.” […]

Prior to legalization, the police could steal part or all of a suspect’s marijuana supply simply by seizing it and making certain it never reached an evidence storage locker. No complaints about lost or misplaced evidence were likely to emerge from the accused. Times change, and in this case, drug enforcement crooks need to accept that weed is legal in California.

Now that we have a slew of new elected folk coming in, remind them that not a single Federal Judge and Federal Prosecutor gave our large banks in 2010 and 2011 treason charges during war for getting caught laundering to our enemy and the cartels ripping and slashing Latin America. All while being bailed out, just so they can help us lose a war to cavemen for 20yrs, just to blame it on some feller named Brandon. Had the rest of the presidents not fucked it up, then Brandon wouldn’t have needed to end our 20yr war like that–with Trump’s puppet strings still very much attached to the deal.

Our elected folk need to be reminded that not a single American judge or American prosecutor arrested our Federal judges and Federal Prosecutors for treason . . . no cop busted the bankers and they didn’t bust the Feds and they didn’t bust the judges and prosecutors for not going after their fed buddies. And we wonder why Brandon closed the War the way we did–horribly, but not as worse as the end of Vietnam (though very comparable).

The cops from Rohnert Park drove North through Santa Rosa, Windsor, Healdsburg, and Cloverdale to get to the county border between Sonoma and Mendocino. In the Emerald Triangle, that area was known to growers as the “gauntlet.” It’s near the Russian River and what used to be known as Squaw Rock, now renamed Frog Woman Rock.

I used to visit friends in Cloverdale and would see Rohnert Park police on the 101 and thought it seemed weird to see them so far from home.
