I don’t usually give free advertising to pizza joints

… but I’ll make an exception in this case.

Remember the licensed medical marijuana user in Denver who ordered pizza and not only did the Papa John’s driver call the police on him, but Papa John’s Pizza supported that action?

Well, here’s a nice twist in the story

One of its Denver-based rivals, Sexy Pizza, said Thursday that it would give Smith one free pizza monthly until Colorado voters decide a proposed 2012 ballot initiative that would legalize marijuana for recreational use.

Sexy Pizza says it’ll extend the offer for life if voters pass the initiative.

Classy. (and smart)

I checked out the Sexy Pizza website, and it looks pretty good, with a focus on New York Style pizza and calzones (they even have Cannolis for dessert), an impressive selection of toppings for the pizzas and specialty pizzas like Eggplant Parmigiana and Baked Ziti.

Even better, they support the community. Check out these specialty pizzas:

So if you’re in Denver (or plan on being there soon), be sure to get some Sexy Pizza!

I would,,but I would probably buy a pepperoni and cheese and throw $3 in the donation jar for the groups.

now you done throwed a craving on me.

There you have it. If marijuana ever gets legalized, buy stock in pizza companies. Earnings will go up 30% overnight.

But avoid Papa Johns–they have a “negative goodwill” liability they’re not reporting on their financials. I smell an accounting scandal brewing. 🙂

      .
DENVER — About 1,200 employees at 72 Papa John’s pizza franchises in Colorado and Minnesota could go without paychecks for at least two weeks after the owner filed bankruptcy, according to court records.

.. In the bankruptcy-filing form, Harris estimated he owes between $10 million and $50 million to creditors.

Harris blames his financial problems on the company that sold him the franchises, Papa John’s International, Inc., according to court records. He said Papa John’s International caused him to “incur significant damages that are the subject of pending litigation” against the giant franchise-seller.

Sounds like Papa Johns in Denver needs to start selling something besides pizza.

  4. kaptinemo says:

And be sure to stop by Papa John’s in Denver and inform them as to why you will no longer be buying any pizzas from them, the snitching motherfrakkers. May the ‘invisible hand’ of the free market crush their corp-rat testicles…

  5. darkcycle says:

There you have it. Let the marketplace decide. I’m gonna venture a guess that every stoner in Denver knows this story by now. That’s not gonna help his debt.
Hey, I hear there is going to be a franchise opportunity in Colorado opening up soon…

  6. Randy Chase says:

The owners of Sexy Pizza include a former staffer on Colorado’s Marijuana Initiative and also owner of a Medical Marijuana Center. Good folks and good pizza

I don’t live anywhere near Denver, but I’m still going to boycott Papa John’s. They need to feel our dissapproval in financial terms. Everywhere.

  8. tensity1 says:

Muahahaha, let’s see if Reddit has this yet. I got the original story on there, and I think I pissed off the driver or a bud of theirs. Not that that was what I was going for, but oh well. Papa John’s didn’t look to be firing the driver, and if anyone should be discombobulated, it’s probably the dude ordering the pizza with cops showing up about essentially nothing.

Unless it’s a real freaking emergency, mind your own business and don’t be a snitch.
