Still trying for the impossible, but with a more limited scope

The Partnership at Drugfree.org is changing its name.

The Partnership at Drugfree.org announced today that it has changed its name to the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids. The name and a newly expanded website reflect the nonprofit’s ongoing commitment to reducing teen substance abuse and supporting families impacted by addiction.

What this reflects, of course, is that their fundraising model will work better if they focus on kids. It’s a retrenching from ridiculously broad impossibilities.

And, of course, I’d have no problem with them focusing on keeping kids drug free if they’ve given up on meddling with responsible adult use (they haven’t) and if they only provide information that is honest and science-based (they don’t).

They must have a new fundraiser and PR firm.

Mark it on your Calendars folks = this is the first time they’ve essentially/effectively – admitted defeat – be careful for a renewed “MADD” approach = focusing on the WA & other state “per se drugged driving nonsense”, and going after parents trying to scare them “straight”…

The a large portion of battle has gone down to FL now & Cal-Purina can’t abide any such thing in HER backyard.

Heck, even Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who chairs the Democratic National Committee – For now, although maybe not for much longer = UNLESS she sets herself to back-peddling in a furious & public manner = ASAP!

She did a fair-to-poor job trying to explain her hesitance by throwing in the FL “pill-mills” reference – which is AFAIK one of the very few places in the US where the Doctors can actually sell the Meds they prescribe.

Still, Trying to spin her “No” Vote by suggesting those Doctors would start slinging weed out of their offices – which to them I’m sure sounds just like the Apocalypse approaching & knocking on their front-door.

No doubt it sounds like “The Devil’s Coming Down To Florida” to some of the oldest Seniors, and maybe some of the aging ‘Baby-Boomers’… Who grew-up in the Bible Belt and didn’t find out that ‘The Sixties’ *happened* anywhere outside of New York & California, Until after they were over – but the rest of Baby-Boomers are noted as feeling quite differently about the subject.

And once they find out/realize/recall – that the Prohib-Idiots “this ain’t your parents Woodstock Weed” is another lie, it could get very ugly!
They KNOW there was both fantastic weed w/ nifty-names based on it’s place of origin & the was ‘commercial’ brick-weed, dirt-weed, and the nastiest schwag (sticks, seeds, & shake) – like the crap they showed on ‘Dragnet’.

As they try it again realize that it helps relieve the aches/pains that come with being old, that they didn’t have back in high-school & college. AND, that it’s not going to truly “endanger” their ‘young adult children’ – they’re gonna finally come-around… AND they’re going to want to know who the hell has been lie to them for so long now!
Come on, everybody *wave* at Calf-ina, Kevie-Pooh, & Patti-JK-Cake and friends! (It’s almost time for them to brush up their resumes.)

Unfortunately, we may have to listen to a bunch more cries of “Why won’t you Think of the Chitlins…” w/ *crocodile tears* – coming outta FL, in the near future.

I try to have empathy for everyone. I recall when I was about 5 or 6 I found a mangled turkey vulture in our back yard. I was very sad and wanted to play EMT. But my mom…oh heck, never mind. I forgot that was when I first learned about the lifestyle of buzzards.

Regardless, these have to be very trying times for the prohibitionists, both parasites and sycophants. I’ll bet it feels like they woke up in an alternate reality and have literally no clue what the heck is going on.

Nobody need to play mom because of this. I don’t feel compelled to render aid and comfort to these particular buzzards. Not even a little bit.

It’s amazing how often these people change their names. Neither am I limiting that to the Partnership for a Truth Free America. Does anyone recall an organization which was the progeny of MADD and called Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD)? Nowadays their official name is Students Against Destructive Decisions.
    Welcome to SADD

in my little town, SAFE, substance abuse free environment has become student and family enrichment. oddly, they haven’t made my family any richer or safer. they do get rid of money the same, though.

Drug Worriers use women and children as shields to hide behind. Cowards, liars and fear mongers intimidating the public, all to sell the Ganjawar. Keeping little girls having 300 seizures a day instead of 3 or 4 a month. Blocking Senior’s affordable healthcare without the side effects of hard drugs from Big Pharma. Draconian prison sentences for caregivers, parents and siblings. Forfeitures, threats, extortion, literally using rape and pillage to stop corporate alternatives from being grown locally in the name of saveding the chillums. Huge growth markets for politicians and government agents to retire on. So in your face obvious that all the money spent fighting sick people isn’t just out of pure evil, it’s their business. JPee Walters should be shipped into deep space, not buried. To avoid a future skin of evil forming as the one that killed Natasha Yar. The DEAth Merchant’s sacrificing kids to profit on misery while jerking the Bible dressed in plastic flags made in China from Al Qaeda crude oil.

PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE AMERICA
More than 100 agencies have made Partnership ads pro bono, and the media kick in ad space and air time for free. The incentive? Creative directors get to show off, giving their ads titles like “Candy Store” and “Tricks of the Trade” and submitting them for industry awards. The actors involved get exposure, and the media outlets can pat themselves on the back for contributing to a good cause.

Diane Feinstein – the best argument for term limits

“Several generations of high school students have grown up ignoring and disbelieving everything they’ve heard from government and police about drugs, including information that was factual and valid, because they discovered for themselves that most of what has been taught to them was simply not true.”

Prenatal Marijuana Exposure and Neonatal Outcomes
Text of Jamaican Study on Prenatal effects
There were no significant differences between exposed and nonexposed neonates on day 3. At 1 month, the exposed neonates showed better physiological stability and required less examiner facilitation to reach organized states. The neonates of heavy-marijuana-using mothers had better scores on autonomic stability, quality of alertness, irritability, and self-regulation and were judged to be more rewarding for caregivers.
