    Differences exist between wars and revolutions. The end game in war is to destroy or repress an adversary and take control of their lives and territory. In particular, Nixon’s drug war is a war to destroy and repress American citizens, and those of other nations, including citizens who merely use drugs to pursue their happiness and well-being.

    In contrast to war, a revolution’s goal is to alter or abolish a government or its principles in order to liberate and free people from a despotic leadership. In a drug revolution, religion and politics would no longer play a role as to which drugs or medical services people are allowed to consume or use. There would be no restrictions on which substances could be researched by science in determining a positive medical benefit for the mind or body. Synthetic medicines would no longer be given dominance over natural medicines, as each drug or herb would rise in use as it met the needs and challenges of the medicated. The FDA and health insurance companies would be forced to change their policies to better accommodate herbal remedies, such that marijuana would no longer be the round peg being forced into the FDA’s square hole. No one in the future could be arrested for merely being in proximity to a scapegoated, illegal drug. Drug repression of all these types and concerns would cease.

    Situations like the drug war are why Thomas Jefferson said a little rebellion (revolution) now and then is a good thing. Viva la revolución!

    I have never understood why celebrating our Independence. After years of harsh bloody war. After great loss and when its all over. I would think it was a time for Peace, Music and Festivals celebrating an end to the war. So why all the replication of war scenes? Bombs bursting in air fireworks. Bang noises like fake bullets. We don’t have enough real bullets without pretend gun shots? Hey we’re free from oppression, lets kill something! Oh welcome home soldiers, We thought we would make you feel better with familiar sounds. Here kiddies we are so very damned concerned about sending proper messages. So sick people can’t smoke pot because of the message. Hemp can’t be taught as an alternative because of the message. But look kiddies, rockets red glare. For when you get old enough to kill people. Oooooo look at that one!

So they can give us unalienable Rights? Who needs the Constitution? That among these are Life, a prerequisite of Liberty that is a prerequisite of any pursuit of Happiness. So unalienable Rights must include the prerequisites of Life, Food, Fuel, Clothing, Housing and Medicine. All coincidentally provided by the Cannabis Plant. Ganja and Hemp. Our Unalienable Rights to Reefer!

        45 years ago the Politicians knew Nixon lied. They knew it every decade since and nothing has changed with the CSA. The Politce politicians paid by all sides taxes demanding a neutral police force. SWAT killing dogs on snitch witnesses to potential acts that are none of their business anyway. Gag rules in court, NRA bought Mandatory Minimums and 3 strikes and Gates DARE intimidation and fear mongering segregation and stigmatizing those with opposing views. Draconian sentences, double jeopardy, perjury by cops in court and judges keeping jury nullification out of the conversation.

        The flags they jerk come from China, using Iranian crude oil. Kids so many messages are cast on, don’t seem to receive them in 12 hour shift sweatshops. Taking American jobs. Funding hostile areas vowing to avenge their dead relatives. Living in poverty under hand picked dictators taking our dollars for their crude oil for plastic flags to jerk with the sounds of Independence blowing off kids fingers.

          I’ll have you know that I said that in the nicest way possible. You probably haven’t been around long enough to know that DdC and I share a mutual animus and have had that for a very, very long time.

          IMHO GW Pharma is never going to get US FDA approval as long as there are synthetic cannabinoids like dronabinol and synthetic cannabidiol. Hey, I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

          Specialty drugmaker Insys Therapeutics (INSY) popped in early trading Tuesday after the FDA approved its cannabis-derived drug for AIDS-related weight loss and nausea induced by chemotherapy.

          The drug Syndros is a liquid formulation of dronabinol, a pharmaceutical version of the active ingredient in marijuana. A capsule form of the drug called Marinol is sold by AbbVie (ABBV), but Insys CEO John Kapoor said in a press release that the liquid form “is easy-to-swallow and allows for the dosage to be titrated to clinical effect. Once Syndros has been opened, it does not need to be refrigerated for 28 days.”

          Insys said that it expects to convert “a large portion” of the dronabinol market to Syndros, which it will launch sometime before year-end.

    2 July 2016 — More than 28,000 people have disappeared in Mexico in the decade since the country began its war on drugs, according to a report published Friday by the Mexican Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Human Rights.

    Unlike the disappeared from Argentina’s Dirty War, and other campaigns of state repression in Latin America during the Cold War period, the reason 28,161 people are listed in the Missing or Disappeared People National Registry is not necessarily tied to any leftist activism. But just as state officials in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Honduras, Guatemala and elsewhere were slow to investigate the disappearances, so too have Mexican officials been reluctant to account for the missing.

    It’s unlikely the state will investigate the disappearances. Due to the promptings of foreign corporate interests in Mexico, it’s the state which is responsible for at least some of the disappeared, people in the wrong place at the wrong time as corporations gobbled up indigenous people’s mining and petroleum resources, using the drug war as an excuse to kill.
