Crooked Smile Video

This is probably the must-see music video of the year.

As FUSE reports, the “video is a commentary on America’s War on Drugs, dedicated to Aiyana Stanley-Jones, the seven-year-old who was shot and killed during a Detroit police raid. Cole stars as a drug dealer who, despite his illegal line of work, is a doting father to an adorable little girl. A DEA agent, with a charming young daughter of his own, co-stars and leads a raid to arrest Cole on his daughter’s birthday. The final shot shows the two daughters together, coloring pictures for their daddies in a classroom with the message: ‘Please reconsider your War on Drugs.'”

The lyrics aren’t particularly connected to the story being told in the video, so much as simply providing a background for it.

CARICOM has decided to inspect the bandwagon to see if they want to jump on. You’re probably wondering, “what in the heck is CARICOM?” If you get the information don’t forget to fill me in. But they do seem to think they’re some pretty impotent big shots in the Carribean.

OP-ED: High Time Indeed to Review Marijuana Policies
    September 19, 2013
    By Sir Ronald Sanders

On September 17, the Bureau of the Heads of Government of the 15-nation Caribbean Community (CARICOM) discussed the decriminalisation of marijuana and its production for medicinal purposes.

The discussion was prompted by the Prime Minister of the Caribbean state, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves who, prior to the meeting, is reported to have said “it is high time” that the matter is addressed “in a sensible focus not hysterical manner”.
    /snip/

In the Caribbean, Jamaican chemist and cancer researcher Dr. Henry Lowe says that Jamaica could be earning “billions of dollars from the wide range of cosmeceutical, neutraceutical and pharmaceutical products being developed across the world”. The same observation holds true for other Caribbean countries.
    /snip/

I’d really like to send my condolences for their loss to the prohibitionist parasites and their sycophants. But they’re hardly worth the cost of a 4th class stamp and I’ve never in my life been a gracious winner.

  2. claygooding says:

CARICOM is the organization all Caribbean Islands belong too,,they are the equivalent of a chamber of commerce keeping all the separate islands commercial policies supportive of each other and open trade between them.

It means the business guys see the market as viable,,their disapproval would have held more sway than them approving it,,but it is one less hurdle towards all those islands legalizing,,,who wants to be the last contender in a new market?

Counterpunch article on America’s rogue police SWAT teams etc.

“At the state and local level every American faces brutal, armed psychopaths known as the police. The “law and order” conservatives and the “compassionate” liberals stand silent while police psychopaths brutalize children and grandmothers, murder double amputees in wheel chairs, break into the wrong homes, murder the family dogs, and terrify the occupants, pointing their automatic assault weapons in the faces of small children.”

Last I checked, the Lord made Cannabis (Genesis 1:29) and Jesus made wine (John 2:7-11). How nice to be able to pick and choose your verses.

“The hell is this crap! this isn’t american. This isn’t change. This isn’t right! Those caught with “small amounts” shouldn’t be taken to the jail and given a summons. They need to STAY in jail where they fucking belong,.Drug use ,perticulary marijuana use is the #1 cause for social and moral decay, it destroys tradional family values, it turns kids into drug addicts who, cheat, steal, rob, act out, unruley behavior, unprotected sex, atheist mindset, turns them into homosexuals(which helpsout that qweer agenda) rape. murder, child abuse. It’s all doctumented, Why else would children be taken away from their parents who smoke marijuana.Because of the evidence that shows those children are abused by they’re parents………” and so on and so on. In the visual for the TLC collab, the ‘Born Sinner’ MC makes the case that drug dealers aren’t so different from DEA agents

Not sure how that was the takeaway. I didn’t see the ‘drug dealer’ in the video conduct an armed invasion of someone else’s home, physically assault anyone, or shoot any kids.

  6. Jean Valjean says:

Did I miss something? How do we know he’s a drug dealer…all I saw was some weed hidden in a shoe, responsibly placed on a high shelf, out of reach for the kids party.

i woke up this morning dope sick as hell in so much pain, a person with no opiate experience who would not have seen it coming would have probably killed themselves, suicide by cop, train, plane or automobile. it hurt so bad and it still does, nothing like the first few seconds/minutes though when you wake up without a wakeup, right anybody who knows?? of course.

i peeled myself of the cardboard behind the cooper building (downtown manhattan) and contemplated that very notion until i realized that one way or another, to quote blondie, today i would be a good junkie and find the necessary funds to perpetuate my existence. The faith keeps me going. I know God is, like that president in WW2 said, on our (the junkie) side, because if he wasnt, well then, why would so many “junkies” become such famous rock stars/super stars? right?

its an interesting thing, the relationship between junkie and Lourd. I saw His further favor this morning, wandering the streets looking for abandoned cigarettes to grab off the ground. It was the front page of todays New York Post. The Post cover story was about Joe Biden’s neice. Addicted to alcohol and prescriptions pills. HOW AWESOME!!!! COULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED TO A BETTER FAMILY!! COME ON DOWNTOWN SWEETHEART AND I’LL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU NEED!!

Yet another load freshly produced by The Sabet Manure Factory®:

“(People) don’t smoke opium to get the medicinal benefits of morphine or eat willow bark to get the benefits of aspirin — why not apply the same logic to marijuana?” Sabet asked.

You know, for a moment I forgot the prohibitionist parasites’ prime directive which uses language identical to the motto of manure farms everywhere:

“Never let the facts get in the way of disseminating an effective piece of hysterical rhetoric” ~~ The motto of the prohibitionist parasite

In this reality there’s a thriving trade of people who are buying and selling willow bark as a headache remedy. A Google search for — buy willow bark — returns 703,000 items.

You’ve got to ask yourself, is “Dr.” Sabet promoting fiction on purpose or is he just plain incompetent? Of course either choice makes anyone who believes his fairy tales a certified chump.

“Don’t settle for any old shit, demand certified Sabet Manure®. Available fresh, so fresh you’ll swear it’s still steaming. Also available aged and cured to perfection from The Sabet Manure Factory®. All Sabet Manure® is certified kosher for our Jewish friends.

The key phrase for explaining the dilemma is “confirmation bias.” The sycophants of prohibition judge the credibility of an assertion by how closely it matches their beliefs.

The prohibitionist parasites and their sycophants consider invisible evidence to be their very favorite kind of evidence because it’s impossible to prove that it doesn’t exist. Please consider that they’re only (allegedly) human and get annoyed with being proved wrong over and over and over and over and over again.

Earlier today I was reading yet another comments column under an article about a mother who found her two children dead in the family swimming pool. She then proceeded to tell the police a pack of bald faced lies. Evidently she’s not a very talented liar because the police caught on after her initial interview. Further investigation and a few hours later found the police eradimacating the lady’s inside grow room. That’s what may have made her to feel compelled her to lie to the police in the first place. Sgt Friday may have been lurking in the bushes.

Or is it? Couldn’t she actually have murdered her children and that was what motivated her dishonesty? Perhaps she was drunk and passed out? It’s the left coast so perhaps there might have been some methamphetamine in the general vicinity?

But the point of this diatribe was to serve an example of the common character flaw among the sycophants of prohibition. 2 dead children in a pool with a small grow op found in the house was all the evidence needed by the Ignorati to blame the children’s death on cannabis.

Californians should try to take away the object lesson that a doctor’s 215 recommendation is cheap at twice the price.

    • N.T. Greene says:

I feel like if we were to inject -logic- into this whole drug war bit, the sheer volume of fallacies extant would cause the heads of some people to explode.

It’s a good thing we don’t teach logic in many contexts aside from high level university courses! And by “good thing” I mean WTF.

Edit: In the above example, we must remember that cum hoc ergo propter hoc is a favorite of just about anyone in power — if just because it is more convenient than establishing legitimate causality.

  13. jean valjean says:

reading the comments about the two kids drowning it occurs to me that prohibs love it when something bad happens to someone else where there is even the most tangential link with weed. i believe the word is schadenfreude.

    Aggressive California U.S. Attorney Says
    She’ll Keep Prosecuting On Marijuana

By Nicole Flatow, Think Progress – September 4 2013

In the past few years, as some medical marijuana business people have been made into criminals in states with their own laws, no state has been more center stage than California.

The state saw the first marijuana law, so the medical marijuana industry has had longer to develop. And crackdowns have been vigorous, particularly at the hands of U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag, who covers the Northern District of California.

It is Haag who is pursuing seizure of two major Bay Area dispensaries that even the cities that host them have considered crucial to public health and defended in court. It is Haag who played a key role in the raid of a dispensary that was the model for a county program to police pot. And it is Haag who recently threatened some seemingly state-compliant dispensaries with as much as 40 years in jail. – Read the entire article at Think Progress.

    Book Review: Reefer Sanity-
Seven Great Myths About Marijuana by Kevin Sabet
By Phillip Smith, Stop the Drug War – Friday, September 20 2013
The important thing to know about Sabet is that he generally approaches marijuana policy from a public health perspective. For him, policy is about preventing marijuana use in the first place and then reducing the harms of its use (see below) when prevention fails. Yes, he still wants to arrest you, but only for the kinder, gentler reason of getting you into forced drug treatment.

According to Lanny Swerdlow, Director of the Brownie Mary Democratic Club and one of the organizers of a planned peaceful protest, “This not only shows how paranoid they are, but graphically demonstrates they know just how indefensible their position is. They know the media will be there and they are mortified that we will be there to give the media another side of the story — the side they are working against.
