just sad it’s too long for an ad. Thousands for a 30 second spot would make that one expensive.
That was simply awesome. It is not going to convert a dedicated prohibitionist–they would just resent it. But it may work on some fence-sitters.
It IS too long for TV, and it will probably spread very nicely around the web, but the web belongs to our side already. Still, it is a great morale booster for the converted.

Overall it’s good, but I do have a problem with the idea of using additional tax revenue as an argument to end prohibition. That’s not an end to prohibition, it’s the beginning of strict regulation, which is even worse for the market than prohibition. Prohibition allows a black market, which is sort of free; the legalized/regulated market does not.
Don’t “legalize”, don’t “decriminalize”, don’t “tax and regulate”. Just repeal the prohibition. The money saved from enforcement costs will be the
KBCraig, the sad fact is the Devil always has his due.
As much as it sticks in the craw of this life-long libertarian, in order to end a gigantic injustice, we reformers will have to accept a much-lesser injustice of taxation to ‘legitimize’ what never needed it in the beginning.
I’ve said of (and to) the prohibs countless times that money always trumps ideology. Well, sadly, that goes for us, too.
Fine. “C’est la vie” I’ll grudgingly pay a tax to get a hob-nailed jackboot off our necks forever. But I want that money from that tax to go to the things that need it the most, not some wannabe fascist cop’s wish list. Those DrugWarriors who have benefited so greatly already from our suffering should be given the ‘cold turkey’ treatment, as they will no longer ‘need’ (as if they ever did) all the bright, shiny, deadly toys and anti-Constitutional laws they’ve used on us in the name of ‘saving’ us from ourselves.
So, yes, while I may agree with your sentiments, life always intrudes with a big, heavy 2×4 called ‘socio-economics’ to wallop us upside the head and keep us real. The trick is not to let it hit us too hard…
