Ick. What a waste of money. A big problem, though, is the recent torrent of Federal spending which drowns out a mere 2 billion dollars. If you are spending trillions, 2 billion is not very much money.

Certainly, giving them an extra 100 million this year is no big deal.

The party will end when other countries stop buying American debt. Everything will come down with a mighty crash the day that happens, but it is also the day we can start to pick up the pieces and truly reform our government.

At the moment, the rest of the world is so used to buying American debt they don’t know what else to do. But they will think of something. Some of them are buying gold, some of them are swapping each other’s currencies, or spending money on commodity contracts. The American spending train has gone off the rails, and the rest of the world needs to find a way to unhitch their cars from the engine before they go over the cliff with us.

Since over 1/2 that budget is for the interdiction of marijuana and for keeping it schedule 1,it explains one of the reasons we can have 14 states with medical marijuana and they insist it has no medical value. Once it is rescheduled to anything but schedule 1,their budget will go down,unless they can figure out how too steal it some other way. And working for the DEA is working for the cartels,because without the DEA and the ONDCP keeping marijuana illegal,the black market wouldn’t be providing the cartels with a market for their marijuana and they lose 70% or more of their income.

Well, maybe we are all in the wrong line of work. Seems that’s a hot career move. Um…working for the DEA and not the drug cartell!
I think there should be a more even split of where the money is spent. Education is key

I am reminded of the scene from the Tom Clancy movie Clear and Present Danger where the American Cabinet member is offered a 'Satan's bargain' by a cartellista to keep up a facade of interdicted drug runs while the majority go on to their destinations unmolested. Now, of course such a thing doesn't happen in real life, right?
